Question :

Good afternoon Doctor,

There is a lump on my left breast, similar to a coin. It is not painful however it can be felt. If I'm not feeling to well or having my period, it will grow bigger and will return to the original size afterward. I was only aware of its presence about 2 months ago and am not sure when it first grew. Is the lump dangerous? Thank you.

Answer :

Dear Ms. Ernadylan,

Thank you for your question.

Basically, we have to be precautious of any breats lumps. Different factors such as family history, marital history and children bearing should be recorded and considered. Only after examination can we only have the description whether it is malignant or the other way around. However, the conclusion is not

However, this conclusion is not absolute and accuracy can be improved by a variety of tests such as mammography, ultrasound, MRI until taking the lump network.

In general, a lump in the breast that are harmful will appear at older ages, but this is only a general rule with frequent exception. Thus my suggestion is to check a lump that you consult to a surgeon.

Hope this information helps.
