The available eye service facilities, both for diagnostics and therapy, include:
DIAGNOSTIC SUPPORT FACILITIES
- Refractive Examination
Namely an examination to determine the presence of refractive errors (refractive error is a condition that can cause blurry vision), it can also be done to measure the size of the glasses. Refractive examination can be performed on adults and children (preferably children under 8 years old).
- Examination and Photo Anterior Segment of the Eye
Namely, an examination to see abnormalities in the eyelids, the lining of the eye (conjunctiva), the anterior segment of the eyeball, and the lens.
- Glaucoma Screening Examination
Namely, rapid detection to find out glaucoma which consists of checking eye pressure with i-care, gonioscopy, and funduscopic examination.
- Retinal Examination (indirect ophthalmoscopy)
The retinal examination is needed for patients whose vision does not improve with glasses, screening before cataract surgery, and routine examinations for people with severe myopia (myopia above 6.00 Diopters)
- Screening for Retinopathy of Prematurity
Screening for eye disorders in premature babies (babies born at 32 weeks or babies with LBW ≤ 1500 grams). This screening examination can be scheduled at 4 weeks of birth and is done when the premature baby is stable. Eye disorders that can occur in premature babies are disorders of the growth of blood vessels and the retina which can cause permanent blindness.
- Biometric Examination
Biometric examination is carried out to measure the axial length of the eyeball in patients with high myopia, measure the thickness of the lens in patients with glaucoma, and measure lens implants in patients with cataracts. This biometric examination can be done by applanation or by immersion. Measurements can be made in patients with even thick cataracts.
- B-Scan Examination
The B-scan examination is used to see eye disorders with media opacities. Disorders of the retina or vitreous as well as intraocular tumors (inside the eyeball) can be detected even if there are opacities in the cornea (keratopathy), lens (cataracts), or in the vitreous, for example in vitreous hemorrhage.
