Question :

Dear Doctor, my wife was diagnosed vertigo by a doctor in Elisabeth Hospital, Purwokerto. We had also consulted with a doctor in Jogjakarta  and currently her condition is not well. She still see 2 images and cannot walk properly. The doctor said the problem is on her nerves and balance. Does she need Brain Wash therapy for her recovery? Thank you.

Answer :

Dear Mr. Joko Supraptomo,

Thank you for your question.

Vertigo is a sensation / feeling which one feels her surrounding environment is always moving or rotating, due to disturbance of body balance and may or without symptoms of autonomic system (vomiting, excessive sweating, palpitations and so on).

So vertigo occurs when there is a body balance disturbance, where it disrupt the function or with anatomical abnormalities in body balance which cause the disruption.

Based on your wife condition, with double vision and walking troubles, the disruption occurs on the brain stem or cerebellum. It is recommended to consult with the Neurology team to find the major cause for an accurate treatment.

For further information on Brain Wash, you can contact our Catherisation Laboratory for detailed explanation.

I wish your wife a fast recovery. If you need more information on vertigo, please do not hesitate to contact the Neurology Team at GADING PLUIT Hospital.
