Question :
Good morning dokter, sometimes my tongue has burning sensation and there is white color, and on the side the tongue feels quite bumpy approximately these last 2 months. I have checked to a dentist and the doctor said it was normal. I went to a neurologist and the doctor said I might be lacking vitamin B12 and it was also possible that my gastric acid is increasing. The burning sensation did disappear for a while. These last 2-3 weeks, I saw 3-4 red small lumps on the back of my tongue. Are those lumps dangerous? What doctor I should consult to? Because I went to a neurologist and I was referred to a dentists. Please provide more information. Thank you.
Answer :
Dear Mr. Rahady,
The burning sensation, white color and bumpy tongue side is a sign of increasing gastric acid. The small red lumps on your back tongue can also be caused by gastric acid irritation.
This symptom is commonly known as GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease). I recommend you to consult to a GP or ENT Specialist for further accurate treatment. Medicines to decrease the gastric acid will be given. Hope this information helps.
